Jeffree Star Holiday Collection Lipsticks – Blogmas Day Eight

Last year around this time I did this exact post! So, when Jeffree announced his 2017 Holiday Collection, I knew there were definite shades I wanted to pick up. I usually pick three liquid lipsticks from the collection (nice range of colour and not too expensive to buy in one go), then if there are shades left that I like, I’ll buy the at a later date! You can grab these now at Beauty Bay for £16 each. Here are my three picks:

I went for the berry shade Santa Baby, the metallic red Poinsettia and the nude (typical) Christmas Cookie. I absolutely ADORE the packaging on these. They do look as though they’re textured, but they’re not. They are super sparkly under the light and just look very cool and Christmas-y. Definitely love the ombré effect. The shades I chose aren’t that adventurous, but they are shades that I don’t really have (particularly not in Jeffree’s formula).

Santa Baby

Just a very beautiful shade! This would go well for day or night, and also through different seasons! You could definitely rock this shade in the summer months, too. I would pair this with a gold glittery eye for Christmas Party glam!

I don’t own ANYTHING that looks like this! I love the shade name, the shade itself and the fact that it is metallic is even better! I think JSC has a great metallic formula, that I almost prefer to the matte! Glides on silky smooth, not patchy, lasts all day… what else would you want? This would be perfect for Christmas Day with very plain eye look, to keep the focus on the lips!

Christmas Cookie

Now, I do have a couple of nude-ish shades from JSC, but I just loved the name of this one, and I love that it has a more pink undertone, as the others I have from his liquid lipstick collections are quite yellow undertoned. This would look fab with a smokey eye (glitter optional) to give it a more sultry look, or you can wear on your ‘no makeup, makeup’ days just to be sure your lips aren’t bare!

Comparison Swatches

Here were some of the shades I have from JSC,  that I was worried would be too similar to those I ordered from the Holiday Collection. Turns out, I needn’t have worried, as they are all very different!

The three nudes, Christmas Cookie, Mannequin and Daddy all look very similar in the tube, but very different on the skin. (Daddy is waaaaay darker than it looks in the tube!) I also wanted to see if Poinsettia was the metallic version of last year’s Holliday Collection lipstick in ‘Checkmate’ which I see it isn’t! Poinsettia is much more a pinkish-red, so I like that they are slightly different. Same goes for Santa Baby and You Better Work… I thought they would be a lot more similar, but again, the undertones were very different when I swatched them (again, Santa Baby has a more pink undertone).

I was pleasantly surprised that all of these shades are different, as one of my biggest pet peeves is brands coming out with ‘new shades’ that look almost identical to ones they already have on sale.

I hope you enjoyed this post! If you did, please be sure to comment down below and tell w=me which shade is your fave from this collection, and if you bought anything from it!
