My Winter Skincare Routine – Blogmas Day Fourteen

For Blogmas Day Fourteen, I’d thought I’d share with you some of the products I use throughout the winter to keep my skin looking fresh and stop it from drying out. I’m not very fussy when it comes to skincare, and I don’t use a ton of products to keep my skin looking good (for me anyway) and I like a ten minute routine out the door and go! So, here’s what I use:

Twice A Week

I use this Clinique Sonic Facial Brush to really deep clean my skin after a week of wearing makeup every day. When I first started using this brush I only tended to use it once a week as per the recommendation of the Clinique representative, but as my skin got used to a deeper exfoliation routine I started to use it twice a week. It’s super easy to use (it only has one setting) and the brush head has two different types of bristles (slightly courser for the T-Zone) which really gives it a nice edge.

To cleanse with it I use the Facial Soap specifically for it. I have been using these on and off for around a year now, and I’m amazed that the cleansing soap in still almost half full and I’ve never charged the facial brush! (Super human battery power? Maybe Clinique should make phone batteries…)

Three/Four Times A Week

I use these after I cleanse with the brush (I like buying the travel sizes because they don’t need as much room, and easy to travel with!). One is the skin toner, which I don’t use every day because it makes my skin quite tight feeling, but after using the moisturiser it can become almost too hydrated. As I can’t find a happy medium, I don’t use it every day, but I think I use it enough to ensure my skin stays nicely moisturised.

Every Day

I wear makeup every day. (Well, not Sundays…) So I use this Garnier Micellar Water to remove my makeup at the end of the day. I could be wearing makeup anything between 6-12 hours so it’s so soothing to take it off this way. (Don’t get me wrong I do use Micellar Water face wipes if I’m feeling lazy). This bottle also lasts forever! It says around 200 uses on the bottle, which I would say is fairly accurate! I removes makeup so easily, as well as mascara! I like to completely soak a pad and leave it on my eyes for 30 seconds before beginning to remove… Just means less rubbing at your eyes!

As and When Needed

I do tend to get very dry skin on my body around the winter time, particularly hands, feet, knees and elbows. I also have stretch marks (don’t we all…?) and I use this is vain on them too. Due to my lymphoedema, I have extremely dry skin on my toes, but I see an improvement in them since I started using this! Bio Oil is a product I only started using within the past few months, and I actually really enjoy it. It has a nice scent and I have seen an improvement in my skin’s condition. This is the smaller bottle, definitely worth one buy just to try!

I hope you enjoyed reading about my skincare routine for winter, and I hope you’ll leave me a comment down below telling me yours!

My skin get so dry during the winter! Currently in the process of trying out a couple of different moisturizers to see which one works best (thank you free Sephora samples!). I also just got some cleansing water in my ipsy subscription bag this month that I’m excited to try out 🙂
